I am a PhD candidate at Stanford University where I am also a Knight-Hennessy Scholar and Stanford Data Science Scholar. I use computational social science and data science methods to study information exposure and media effects on the open web and private communication channels. In January 2025, I will be starting as an Assistant Professor in the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication. My work has been published in journals and venues including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Nature Human Behavior, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, and Proceedings of the ACM on Human-Computer Interaction (CSCW).
Prior to Stanford, I was a Data Scientist at a digital marketing and measurement firm in Minneapolis, MN where I developed and deployed Bayesian machine learning models, conducted large-scale A/B testing, and worked with client teams to optimize digital marketing budgets for Fortune 500 companies such as UnitedHealthcare, Coach Bags, Calvin Klein, and Facebook Marketplace. I have also consulted for over 80 political campaigns. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I graduated with Comprehensive Honors.
In my free time I enjoy biking, trying beer, and watching the Milwaukee Bucks and Bayern Munich.
